JAF partners with Kutz 4 Kidz

JAF Projects

The new program allows students to get free haircuts to help build confidence.

Newburg Middle School officially opened its own barbershop. The salon is the first licensed barbershop inside a Kentucky school. A licensed barber gives haircuts to students as part of the event. The barbershop is sponsored by the Jo Adell Foundation. Jo Adell is a JCPS graduate and major league baseball player whose mother, Nicole Adell, is principal at Newburg Middle School.

Many of our students have never experienced having a haircut by a professional barber. The atmosphere of this shop will bring depth into the lives of our students while giving them tools to grow. Our students will experience a professional barbering service that will create swag, a type of confidence that will extend into the classroom and into the community, allowing our students to dream big.

These guys walk around in the building like they’re different people, and it was just from a haircut.
