This marks the second year African American MLB players have come together to share insights and encouragement with the aspiring young talents at Hunter’s residence.

For almost an hour, the panel delved into the intricacies of being a professional ballplayer, emphasizing key aspects like preparation, avoiding complacency, and the significance of representation beyond oneself. Jo, known for his active involvement with young players, provided valuable insights and words of encouragement to the nearly 80 predominantly Black and Latino players in attendance.

As the night concluded, players left not only with the tangible mementos of a weekend on the diamond but also with new friendships and lifelong bonds. Hunter Greene aptly described the event’s spirit in his closing remarks, declaring, “This is a family, this is a fraternity.”
